How we make money, in plain English
We would rather you heard this from us than guessed. Royal Odds Desk is funded mainly through affiliate commissions, and here is exactly what that means for you.
What an affiliate link is
Some of the outbound links to operators on this site are affiliate links. They point to the operator’s own website and carry tracking parameters that tell the operator the visit came from us. If you follow one of those links and then register an account or place a bet, the operator may pay us a commission.
What it costs you
Nothing. You pay the same prices and get the same terms as anyone arriving at the operator directly. The commission is paid by the operator out of its own marketing budget, not added to your stake or deducted from any winnings.
The important bit: affiliate commission does not buy a higher score, a better review or a fixed place in our comparison. Scores follow our editorial review policy and the same checks are applied to every product, paid link or not.
Why we use affiliate funding
Running a comparison site takes time — using each product, re-checking terms and keeping profiles current. Affiliate funding lets us keep the site free to read without filling it with intrusive advertising. It is a common model across review and comparison sites, and we think being open about it is the only sensible approach.
How we keep it honest
- We label the comparison as affiliate-funded near the products themselves.
- Outbound commercial links use rel attributes appropriate for sponsored links.
- Editorial scores and order are set before any commercial consideration.
- We write about trade-offs and weaknesses, not just selling points.
What we are not
We are not a bookmaker and we do not take bets, set odds, hold deposits or manage accounts. We are not owned by the brands we list and we are not a regulator. For more on how the platform works, see about us.
